Terrace & rooftop living — Nice, Côte d'Azur

About Tergi Chaet

Mediterranean Outdoor Specialists

Tergi Chaet formed in 2015 after its founders spent a decade specifying hotel rooftops from Monaco to Antibes and noticed private clients copying lobby furniture that failed within one season on unshaded loggias.

The studio name merges terrace and chat — conversation led design for how you actually use outdoor space.

Engineering Awareness

We read structural notes for live loads before placing ceramic planters or built-in benches. Copropriété rules in Nice buildings often cap added weight per square metre.

Wind tunnel experience informs screen placement; mistral gusts are not solved with decorative beads.

Planting Partnership

In-house stylists work with local pépiniéristes who understand saline mist and watering restrictions during summer drought orders.

Drought-tolerant palettes are default; thirsty lawns are declined unless recycled greywater is confirmed.

Project Geography

Most work sits within thirty kilometres of Nice: Fabron, Cimiez, Port, and Villefranche-sur-Mer cliffs. Each microclimate receives different textile and timber guidance.

We maintain a salt-spray exposure map updated yearly from client feedback.

Studio on the Promenade

The ground-floor office at number fifteen doubles as a weathering yard where sample cushions and finishes rotate through full sun exposure tests before specification.
